"HEHE!"
Honesty | Empathy | Humor | Eccentricity
These core values shape everything I do. To me, art is an honest reflection of who we are. Understanding it means first understanding ourselves—only then can we truly connect, empathize, and share with others. Humor is just as essential; it thrives on honesty and empathy, making it a powerful tool for connection. And then there's eccentricity—I embrace my weirdness. Being basic is boring. Our quirks set us apart, making us uniquely human. Those differences aren’t just worth accepting—they’re worth celebrating.
Call Me Vu
My full name is Vulang Nguyen, but you can just call me Vu for short!
I grew up in a family of four in West Hartford, Connecticut, with a boombox constantly blasting my dad’s music collection—sparking my love for music early on. My dad signed me up for piano lessons in kindergarten, and by fifth grade, I picked up a guitar and formed a band with my friends called Gravitonik. I also joined the school choir, where I met some of my closest friends. Through it all, I realized that what drives me most is creating art through collaboration.
If I could have any superpower, it’d be the ability to stop time—imagine the things you could create with unlimited hours in the day, or the extra time you could steal for a break (or a much-needed nap). The possibilities are endless. What about you? If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Or maybe… do you already have one? I'd love to know :)
Internships
PR and Media Relations Intern | VenturSeed | New York, NY
March 2023 - Jun 2023
As a PR and Media Relations Intern at VenturSeed, a startup accelerator, I gained hands-on experience in venture capital and early-stage business growth. Working closely with the CEO and a small, dynamic team, I managed outreach efforts by sending hundreds of cold emails to potential clients and ran the company’s Instagram, creating visuals with Canva.
A standout moment was attending TechCrunch Early Stage 2023 as a Venture Scout, where I connected with startup founders and explored emerging innovations, particularly in AI. Additionally, I provided administrative support, including scheduling, email management, and meeting documentation.
This experience deepened my understanding of startup ecosystems, strategic communication, and the power of networking in the VC space. Grateful for the mentorship of Jeremy Andrews and the opportunity to contribute.
Content Creation Intern | Catalyze Her | Los Angeles, CA
March 2024 - Jun 2024
During my time as a Content Creation Intern, I had the invaluable opportunity to work closely with the founder of a female-led production company, assisting in marketing strategies for their feature film Growing Pains. My role involved creating visuals and editing social media content to capture audiences through digital storytelling.
A key highlight of my experience was conducting and documenting interviews with the cast and crew at the International Film Festival in Boston. Collaborating with a visionary filmmaker reinforced my appreciation for independent cinema and provided firsthand insight into the intersection of marketing and filmmaking

Security | Live Nation Entertainment | Boston, MA
May 2024 - Present
As part of the security team at Live Nation Entertainment’s Leader Bank Pavilion, I gained firsthand experience in concert venue operations and crowd management. My role involved monitoring concerts and festivals, conducting bag checks, and ensuring guest safety by enforcing venue policies—including preventing prohibited items, such as a pocket knife, from entering the premises. I also patrolled the venue and managed VIP access to front-row areas.
This role gave me valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of live events and the collaboration required to create a safe and enjoyable concert experience. Since then, I’ve transitioned to Crossroads Music Venues Boston, working at venues like House of Blues, MGM Fenway, and the Xfinity Center. Grateful for an incredible team that made every shift memorable.
A&R Intern | Artist Live Global Village | Boston, MA
September 2024 - December 2024
As an A&R/Marketing Intern at Artist Live Global Village, I scouted emerging talent in Boston, Miami, and Los Angeles, helping to identify and support rising artists. My role involved attending and filming local music events for social media, and creating engaging content to amplify artists’ reach. I also conducted interviews with musicians and industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into their creative processes and careers.
One of the highlights of my internship was attending the Mass Music & Arts Summit, where I had the opportunity to interview notable figures like LaRussell and Rigo "Riggs" Morales (Executive VP of A&R at Def Jam Recordings). These conversations deepened my understanding of artist development, industry trends, and the business side of music.
